The scholarships are in memory of Karim Rida Said and since their introduction in 1984 they have enabled more than 400 young people to gain a university education overseas and to contribute to the development of the Middle East region. The Scholarships are to study a master’s degree in the UK. Scholarships range from partial support to full fees and a maintenance allowance. Applications for the Scholarship are made direct to the Foundation and not to the University of Southampton.
-have a good first degree
-provide evidence of your English language ability
-be under forty years of age -be Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian or Syrian and resident in the Middle East
-be able to demonstrate that your chose Masters degree will be of use to the development of your home country or the Middle East region
-have at least two years’ work experience -hold an offer for a University of Southampton Masters degree
-sign a binding agreement to return to your home country or another of the Foundation’s target countries
